Legacies to the College resource new generations of priests
Throughout the College’s history, the generosity of those who have remembered us in their Will has provided us with the resources to continue our work of forming new generations of priests. Because the College has charitable status, gifts to the College made through a Legacy fall outside the donor’s estate for inheritance tax purposes.
The following form of words should ideally be used when making a bequest to the College:
“I give free of tax to the College of the Resurrection Mirfield the residue/the sum of £(amount) to be used as the Council of the College thinks fit and declare that the receipt of the Bursar or other proper officer for the time being of the College shall be sufficient discharge to my Executors.”
